CCAS — the Clean Cooking Association of Somalia — is an independent, non-profit, membership-based national association headquartered in Mogadishu. Established January 2026 in close consultation with the Federal Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, recognised by the Federal Government of Somalia, and aligned to the global Clean Cooking Alliance. Sixty founding members across government, private sector, civil society, research, donors and individuals.
The mandate is to coordinate Somalia’s transition to clean and modern household cooking across six concurrent pillars — policy, market, research, skills, partners, awareness. Governed by a General Assembly that meets annually, an elected Steering Committee that runs between assemblies, six pillar working groups that carry the day-to-day, and an independent Secretariat in Mogadishu.
